I'm happy to report that I decided
my disdain for FirstUSA was much more important than having a stupid little card with my school's name on it. I tore up the application and threw it in
the trash. ...

It's not First USA, but I'm not happy with the issuer of my Alumni credit card, Colonial Bank (based in AL), so I've not applied for one. I might if they went with someone else, but one of the principals in the bank are on the board of trustees, so I don't think it's going to change any time soon.

Colonial Properties (one of their divisions) treated my mother very unfairly when she was running a small business, and to this day I turn red at the mention of Colonial. I also am friends with one of their former employees that they treated very badly. (Had him move to another city only to tell him that they changed their mind and wanted him back where he was.)
