I'm kinda late to this and maybe you have it fixed already. Did you try putting it in neutral to start it? Non starting with jumper cables sounds more like starter system/cable issues. Neutral safety switches can go bad and work in one position and not the other. That is the easiest test. Is starter clean? Could even be the ignition switch.
