I'm not a sage, nor do I play one on T.V. That said, I do prefer to buy low, or at least not buy high, when purchasing my GG baskets or RB stocks.

I tend to use quick indicators for GG/RB investing, like 50/200 DMA or Fast Stochastic.

Basically I am looking to purchase gr8 companies (based on fundamental DD) at relatively low prices (i.e. on sale relative to short term trends). Now that I have a portfolio of 15 gr8 companies, I now use similar approaches when looking to add to my existing holdings (i.e. I'll rank the stocks based on relative lowness, then invest equal dollars into the low three).

Since these holdings are my LTBH stocks, I tend to use quick indicators like 50 or 200 DMA and Fast Stochasitic (I've been relying quite a bit on Fast Stochastic l8ly), since I am merely interested in "relative lowness" and not bottoms.
