I'm not an engineer, but I could play one on TV. I'm a designer--which is a fancy way to say "draftsman".

Another aspect is how quickly they built these plants. We've got design drawings for this plant dated 1942, though most were produced in early '43.

Even though this was for the war effort, they didn't use much steel in the plants. We've got brick buildings with wooden trusses, platforms, handrails etc.
