I'm surprised nobody has said the obvious:

I learned using a Pentax SuperProgram - and years ago when I took it in for repair, the tech told me it was a classic and I should buy a spare body. I did (twice over) and still pull it out once in a while (with some good glass).

Now, I spend most of my time behind an EOS 20D - but because I still have a fondness for film, I bought a used EOS 3 (interchangeable lens with the 20D), and carry it on my most important shoots. I'll "practice" with the 20D, and then take a few shots with the EOS 3 - and then compare results.

There is still something about the delayed gratification of film....

...and, I couldn't get enough on eBay to make it worth parting with them.
