I'm very worried after reading all of this. When does it end? When do we have the right to say "no more of my information can be given out".
I get this little notes in my bank statements, etc. "Tips on how to protect ourself from identity thieft". Meanwhile, they send the dame thing open. The glue was never activated by there machine. This has happened to me several times over the years. Were I had to call my credit card comp. to change my account #, because the bill was sent open. I bought CD's one time from MBNA bank. They not only sent the certificates to me open, but were kind enought to have my name, address, social security number and my mothers maiden name in full view.
When I called to complain, they kept blaming the post office for damaging the envelopes. I explained to them that there was no damage, they were never sealed at all.
So every tells you how "you" should protect your info., but meanwhile, while your home shredded stuff, your info. is floating around the universe, dispite all of your efforts.
By the way, thank you for the informative posts.
