I'm wondering that even without a job that she may be able to get a secured credit card in her own name. As others will advise you, it can be risky to add a child to your credit account (and doesn't help their own history).My understanding is that for a secured card, you deposit a specific amount of money (say $500) and can use the card up to the available balance. It won't work if you try to go over.
