IMO, the bad aspect is that it used to be that the CEO came up through the ranks. Now they are professional managers of a generic company, and may not even KNOW the details of the day to day things the business does.Something I came across one time:It's easy to make good decisions given sufficient information.A good manager can make good decisions given inadequate information.A perfect manager can operate in perfect ignorance.
