In fact, this is one procedure that can easily be done at home. All you need is a healthy donor who can contribute feces, a food processor and an enema bag.

This process actually, quite literally, saved my 98-year-young grandmother's life about a year and a half ago.

She had a C-diff infection that WOULD NOT GO AWAY. The antibiotics were having horrifying side effects for her, and making her very ill. They were afraid that something would end up killing her. She is an otherwise healthy, vibrant woman, living independently.

However, this made her so sick, over such a long period, that we were very frightened for her.

This procedure helped her almost instantly. It was incredible the difference it made.

While they did take some care with her (screening donors on her behalf, and she did have a home health aide to do the enema procedure for her), as I said, it literally saved her life.
