In fact to get the machine to reboot again with a display you have to unplug the power cord from the Mac.

If you hold in the power button for 6 seconds (on any Mac), it will power down without removing the power cord.

My problem is I am not familar with Macs, if it was a windows machine I wouldnt have to ask questions on this board…

If you're booting into Windows, then it's no different from any Windows PC. Your troubleshooting steps should be exactly the same.

You'll find people there who are more experienced troubleshooting Macs. But again, you're not trying to troubleshoot a Mac. You're trying to troubleshoot a Windows PC that just happens to be a Mac.
