In front of my house, I have three 4"x4"x8' fence posts. They're mounted into the ground and covered in vinyl fencepost sheaths with toppers. On each one I've mounted two decorative arms, and the bird feeders dangle from the arms. I've got no problems with squirrels at all on any of my feeders, because the posts are way too far from the trees for the squirrels to get to them and the vinyl is too slippery for them to climb. There's plenty of seed that falls on the ground and they eat there, but they're not on my feeders at all. GSF
