In the case of a company with preferred shares, should the total market capitalization number use the market value or the liquidation preference of the preferred?? In other words, the total market cap is based on total debt, market value of common shares, and _________ value of preferred shares.

Market cap= price per common shareX # shares outstanding.

Enterprise value= Market cap + total of all long term debt + value of all preferreds.
