In the case of the Florida shooter, the stated inability to trace the source of the internet posting is laughable. This is especially humiliating to the department since the shooter never even bothered to create a screen name. He used his own real name. Even Inspector Clouseau would have figured that one out.


I'm guessing they've never heard of internet protocol addresses. And it isn't like you can post on YouTube anonymously, so it isn't even difficult to do.

Besides, they could have easily checked with the NSA. Aren't they still recording everything online?


The agent who claimed inability to crack this tough technical problem was either lazy or incompetent.

I just about hit the floor when I heard that. I'm guessing since that agent was too stupid to check, (s)he assumed everyone else is stupid, too.
