In the future it is probably best if you don't identify your employer. The employer name is unimportant, no good will come of it and only likely to cause you future problems.

It is appropriate for the manager to not take your feelings into account your feelings are yours to own and manage. You feel disregarded, then get a thicker skin.

When you write "Not to shift blame from my own individual choice," you are shifting blame, don't try to minimize your behavior.

As you said, you answered the phone wrong, fess up, take your lumps, and show stronger character.

Pushing the issue up the chain of command is likely to cost you your job. After all, who needs an employee who has the attitude of ‘good riddance, I didn’t need guest here.’

Thank the manager for not firing you and for giving you a second chance.
