In the wholesale/retail model, both parties win (well, generally, but let's not get into Walmart). In the scalping case, the scalper wins, but the person who loses out on paying the retail or ticket price loses. That's how I see it, anyway.-------------------Wholesale is just a way of saying you are buying something in bulk for resale. By your definition of losing, everyone who buys something is losing if they can get what they are buying cheaper somewhere else and this is almost always the case.
