I am looking to purchase an indoor antenna for my HDTV. I just tried a friend's RCA amplified, rabbit-ears-style antenna and I was fairly pleased with the picture quality. I don't think it was as quite as good as the qualtiy of the HD channels I receive over Comcast, but it's close. I noticed that Best Buy also has HD antennas with a bow-tie design (Terk, I think). I would probably buy on-line using price grabber or something similar.
I am about 15 miles from the source of the broadcasts according to www.antennaweb.org. There are no high-rises in this area. Basically, everything I'm interested in is coming from the same direction.
Next year, I will be in North Virginia, receiving signals from DC (maybe 10 miles away). So, I guess I'm also interested in something that will work well in a city environment.
My guess is that it won't matter which HDTV antenna I buy, but if anyone has two cents to throw in, I'd appreciate it. I'm tempted to go with the RCA antenna because I know it works fairly well.
