Icy, you were too easy on Econ. Econ basically is cooking his books and they say a good cook will eat his own cooking. I suggest that you take a look at the real CPI. The core CPI is a fraud --- the whole CPI is predicated on the premise that if it is held flat or small-slope-increase all entities pegged to it can be justified to hold constant ---- includes salaries, govnt entitlements, etc. Can you believe that one form of the CPI excludes cost of fuel and food? Meanwhile, costs are increasing at a level that are reaching historic proportions. Look at all the Ag Industry price-prop-ups like sugar. Do you have any idea how much more U.S. sugar cost compared to world figures? And, HFCS from corn is through the roof and it is in everything ---- think of the taco robber ethyl Alcoh. The wonderful stuff that causes us to have to buy more fuel per mile than we would using pure gas. Think of the jobs created by domestic drilling for the oil and gas reserves we have in our own country. And, they can use my backyard too. Oh, and don't let me leave out drugs--- big Pharma pulled a big one over on us in '09-'10 by across the board increases to prepare for Bumacare.
I suggest that Econ try and adapt to digesting pine cellulose ---- at least there is an abundance of that renewable resource and its probably as cheap as cooked books -- just joking. ---- JG
