Interest rates peaked this cycle a year ago December (just before the Fed started lowering interest rates). That will happen again in the next business cycle--probably 8 to 10 years from now. That will be better timing for you.

Paul, your statement above peaked my interest. I am 66 years old and this fall I did a ladder of corporate bonds out 10 years. Does your statement mean I won't have to worry about rising interest rates for 8-10 years? I also invested in two ultra short bond funds that I thought would be better than the 2% I get in the portfolio cash account.
