Over the last two years I have noticed a tremendous increase in demand for wanting to know how to use Macromedia's products, especially with the youth.
If I visit the multimedia learning centre in Adelaide, Australia, I now see that the most popular course is Macromedia internet/animation software Flash, and second most popular is their 3D modelling software. The latter is especially popular with the kids. You hear them asking their mother - "Please.. can I do that Macromedia 3D course? Please..".
What does this mean? I can't overstate the importance of this. These kids are going to be the astute Macromedia developers 10 years from now. Shockwave will have an important effect that I don't hear discussed; by attracting the youth with entertainment and technology, there are more kids mucking around with the tools, there are more resumes with Macromedia product experience, there are more bosses chosing to use Macromedia products, and Macromedia increases its turnover and puts that back into Shockwave branding, feeding more kids.
Nice cycle. But one of many for this great company.
