Interesting Question about dealing with retirement / drawdown. Berkshire is one of my main holdings. Given my age I can afford to leave my holdings to grow for c35-40 years. so no immediate problem and I can take a reasonably long term view. I`m hoping that I could perhaps sell a lump sum every 2 to 3 years and put this in the bank to live off. Alternatively I could sell and purchase income stocks, however the other 50% of my portfolio comprises of large cap growth stocks like Tesco JNJ which pay reasonable divis, the plan is to use the divi`s for living and BRK for emergencies or big ticket purchases. I could also try and be clever and redistribute from BRK to income stocks when valuation presents opportunity. What are your plans?
