Interesting, we focus on the product, but little has been noted about the actual marketing practices of Ford.

Are the truck and Lincoln ads on NFL broadcasts working? The Focus has been an integral part of Fox's American Idol. Will it be there this year again?

I think many posters on this board would believe that Ford has to have a quality product to suceed. But what is "quality." Is it reliability? Is it looks? Or is it just the perception of reliability and style?

But going forward - what does Ford need to do to market its cars? Saying build it well and they will buy doesn't work. Almost all cars are built well and satisfy the needs of the buyer. So, what does Ford need to do to sell its cars?
