Hello again,

I'm working on a research project that I plan to use in school as part of my MBA in Environmental Management program and in my present and future professional life. I thought I'd throw it out for discussion here too.

The broad question that I'm starting with is:

Is the Internet, e-Commerce in particular, good for the environment? What are the environmental benefits and what are the environmental down sides of this new networked economy?

Some of the areas I'm considering are:

Availability of Information
Shipping and Transportation in Commerce
Paper-Use Reduction
Network Component Manufacturing
Equipment Recycling and/or Reuse

I've just embarked on this, so I'm strictly in the data gathering mode. Anyone out there in fooldom have any thoughts on the subject?
