I currently have both traditional IRA's as well as Roth. Originally they were set up with mutual funds at medium risk to high risk. However, Within the couple of years, I've expanded my outlook to include stocks from the U.S. exchanges. Note: Each one has a stop limit above the purchase price. It has worked out exceptionally well. I have picked some really good companies with exceptional dividends. My accounts are held through a brokerage. Just an idea.
