I suggest people wondering about investments in retirement look closely at investments within an IRA. Following is oversimplified, but may help give you an idea.

Some have suggested that investing within an IRA is like a license to steal. I might agree, except that there are no PROTECTIONS on lousy investments, either, so beware...

Within your IRA, you can basically make all the profit you're smart or lucky enough to make -- and pay no taxes on that profit, at the time.

AFTER age 59-1/2, you DO pay taxes on money you withdraw from that IRA, based on your total income. BEFORE age 59-1/2, you also pay penalties on withdrawals, so be careful!

Just some random thoughts.
