I have both a 457 deferred compensation plan and an IRA. Even though I have been pretty satisfied with both, I am now retired and believe that I can do better on my IRA.

The question is can I really. Is there anyone out there who has changed from a top 10% Mutual Fund IRA to individual stock picking (within an IRA) and out performed the mutual fund they were in?
