In reading a number of items concerning IRAs and the Foolish 4 plan, a lot of attention has been given to the cost of making trades and keeping the total to less than 2% of your investment. Datek I believe charges an annual fee of $40 for an IRA. This is also of importance. If 8 trades are made in a year for the F4 plan then this $40 averages out to $5 per trade. Now when their $10 per trade fee is added in this brings the total per trade to $15. This makes a broker like Waterhouse look better with a fee of $12 per trade and no annual fee for their IRA.Andy
