IRS isn't sending packages to some people who previously got them, but I don't remember any details.

The details are this:

About 10 million people will not be receiving their Form 1040ES this year. If you filed or paid electronically or used a paid preparer, the IRS will not be sending the forms.

We (AARP/TaxAide) got notice of this only recently, after many taxpayers had inquired.

P.S. I second Phil's endorsement of EFTPS. I've used it for a few years, both to pay taxes due (when filing) and to schedule the next year's quarterly estimated payments.
