People on the left (and some on the right) claim that health care is a right. Think of the implications of this assertion. Let's suppose that no one was willing to be doctors, nurses, etc. If receiving health care is a right, then we have the right to force others to provide us with health care. You don't want to be a doctor? Too bad! I have a right! The idea that health care is a right is equivalent to the idea that the enslavement of others is a right. The fact is that we don't have a right to anything that must be provided by others.Leonard Peikoff hit the nail on the head:"...all legitimate rights have one thing in common: they are rights to action, not to rewards from other people."http://www.capitalismmagazine.com/index.php?news=5123
