Is it necessary for your children's after-school care to cost $182/week? Let's say it's for 2 hours a day, which would be 10 hours at $18/hour. Couldn't a neighbor teen or preteen babysit at their home or yours for less than that--probably less than half that?I went back to work during "mother's hours" (9-2) when my youngest was about the age of your twins. Once a week I needed to work till 5, and I hired a neighbor 12-year-old to babysit. She was the eldest in a large family with much experience looking after children. She was happy for the income (and respite from her crowded house!), I was happy to have someone both trustworthy (her mom right up the block) and cheap, and my kids liked her very much. Win-win-win.
