Is it necessary to diminish what someone else might have to feel good ?

Been posting around these parts much?

All kidding aside, I can understand both side easily. Sometimes it's very hard to listen to someone going on and on about their "brand name" items while we are slowly getting ourselves in a better financial situation.

But one way I deal with it is to:

a. Tell myself that material things don't mean a thing and back it up by looking at my 3 kids and remember the truly important things.
b. Tell myself that they are probably up to their eyeballs in debt and will someday more than likely pay for their extravagances.
c. Always the correct answer
d. Repeat A
e. All of the above.

Who has never been impressed nor paid full price for "brand names"
