Is there a good resource that discusses the interaction or eligibilities for a Roth and/or an SEP-IRA ? My husband is an employee of a large corporation while I expect to be self-employed for the entire year.

Pub 590 is your primary source, with more information about SEPs and other plans for the self-employed in Pub 560. Roth eligibility depends on only earned income and AGI. SEPs don't enter into the Roth equation at all.
