Is watching porn helpful to a relationship or harmful? I just had a conversation with one of my friends and she admitted they watch porn some and considers it helpful. I think I would tend to think of it as helpful and wonder what others think.

I think it depends on the quality of the porn. I saw a Tracy Lords (sp?) movie in which they were trying to have a scene with group sex. They had even numbers of men and women, so when they had two on one, this poor woman was left out. In the background, you could see this chick leaning on a huge stuffed lion, bored out of her gourd. I started laughing and couldn't stop.

I've also seen others that I can only describe as foul - at least to my sensibilities, and I think that's the problem. Most porns are aimed at men. They have pitiful, if any, story lines, and just enough dialog to get someone's clothes off.

As well as the supposed "tasteful" (I've never seen one) instructional videos, there appears to be a renaissance in porn movies in that they are consciously trying to appeal to females. I think that videos of this caliber could be beneficial to couples. Anything else, I equate somewhat to paying for a hooker so you can watch.

Or was that too indelicate?

Amanda
