What are the collective thoughts on this ETF (ticker: DVY) which holds fifty of the highest paying stocks and will change the selection every so often automatically to adjust to a higher dividend mix?

The fees are either 0.40% or 0.60% depending whether you beleive iShares site or M*.

Direct ownership of individual shares might be cheaper but if those companies become laggers then you'll incur frictional costs thru trading out and into new shares as well as triggering possible capital gains taxes. The ETF in comparison can be held indefinitely putting off capital gains.

Thoughts?
