It certainly can be a challenge. I would recommend not trying to do something 'too' often. Make the 'stay-at-home-date-nights' special. Maybe just once or twice a month.

You two need to switch off on who decides what to do.

Renting movies are always a plus. This may mean he has to sit through a chick-flick, and you have to deal with gratuitous violence--but you're spending time together. There are happy mediums. I suggest: The Thomas Crown Affair the remake. with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

Games are good, as well. Make sure they're fairly quick playing. You may be tired, and there's no need to not be able to finish OR be at each other's throats. NO Monopoly or Risk. Pass the Pigs, Phase 10, a quick board game.

A take-out meal is also a huge bonus. No cooking, almost no dishes to do. There's a little Italian place that we order from and we can split one dish and spend 30 minutes just chatting.

Discuss starting a hobby you both can do.

Once your DATE is set, try not to break it.

The idea is to reconnect.

Have fun!
