It is important when looking at past time periods to evaluate what the BMW chart actually looked like back then, not what that time period looks like on today's BMW chart (which includes data from the "future" that occurred after the past - get it?).

The stock screener charting tool at
http://darren78.homeip.net/investments/bmw/
allows you to set start and end dates for any time past to present to generate the chart that would have existed on any particular date for any particular time frame.

In the case of XOM, the July 2010 bottom on the 30-yr chart at that time was about -3 RMS and RF 2. If I had some cash I would have bought some.
