It is not clear that airline miles are a better value. It depends on how frequently you travel and the distances involved. Since I normally fly Alaska, I looked at the terms of their airline miles card and decided to continue to use my Discover account. Limits on airline miles depended on the annual fee paid for the card. I was not willing to pay the $75 a year. There are affinity programs with hotels and car rentals, but frequently there is a small additional cost for the miles.
