It looks like you are doing a great job!

It sounds like you are doing the right things: examining how your goals are or are not being met and taking appropriate action, and looking for additional ways to reach those goals.

Some months just turn out more expensive than other months: non-monthly expenses, seasonal variations in gas or electric bills, semi-annual and annual bills, and those infrequent purchases and repair bills. Saving up for some of those expenses make good sense, which is why in the past 20 years I have never stopped the automatic feeding of my savings account.
