I moved this to a new thread. Now when people ask we can just tell them to search for italic...which is what I did to find Janny's post. But I knew it was there!

Here's Janny's directions...the one of best I've seen.

How to italics and bold

I will try to explain!!

First to mark Italic you use I and to mark bold you use B . You have to put them between < and > to get the marking you want. It's quite difficult to explain, because if you do it for real, you don't see the "sign's" you have too use.
To stop the marking, you put a / before the B or the I!!

I try to mark it with spaces between them, so you will have an idea and it will not mark really!!

< i> I will try and do an < b>example</ b> for you </i >

Without spaces this would read:

I will try and do an example for you
