Its funny you mention firearms. I did actually apply for my Class A License to Carry Firearms; however in Massachusetts it is notoriously difficult to get. I am waiting, it takes around 10 weeks to hear back. We enacted our own 'Assault Weapons' ban after the federal one ran out. Its not a 'shall issue' state, its up to each chief of police in each town whether you can get a license or not. I am an NRA member already.

I would love to rent the property, but its carrying costs are about $200 short of the mortgage and homeowners fees. That's -$2400 a year. Not to mention that renting is a risky behavior around here; people can skip rents. I know Section 8 is guarunteed money but if they trash my place that does me no good either. I normally play pretty risk-averse and I think I do a good job of living in my means, but I do not want to put my fate in someone else's hands, aka a renter.
