... and we had nachos made with chorizo and ground chuck. Topped with refried beans, cheddar, and chopped tomatoes. Nothing fancy.

I made tomato jam for tomorrow night's breakfast dinner. Man, that stuff's good.

When I smoked the chickens yesterday, I butterflied them, cutting out the backbones, rib cages and keel bones, threw the keel bones away and made a chicken/veggie soup with the rest and some onions, celery, carrots, peas, mushrooms, diced potatoes and a little fresh garlic, basil and parsley. It's a little nippy here tonight, so I'm having some of that. There's a lot of flavor in them backbones and I get a little meat and some skin with - prolly could use a little light Rum though.

Leftover night-- the girls had leftover pizza, and I had leftover Country Captain (loaded with Sriracha sauce).

We tried a cottage pie recipe. It was a mix of ground chuck, summer squash, peas, pearl onions, and various spices topped with mashed spuds and baked for an hour. A good warm food for a fall day.
