RE: article in todays FOOL: "its the employees, stupid"Yes, it certainly is.The problem with some companies these days is that they are obsessed with the share price. Decision seem to be made on the premise of: "The quarterlies are coming up - what can we do to the figures to keep the share price up" instead of running a good solid business, that makes profits and grows; which in then reflected in the share price.I can't remember the exact quote but Richard Branson says in his autobiog, something like: at Virgin we don't look after the shareholders first, we look after the employees. If the employees are happy they will do the best job, this keeps the customers happy and they will therefore come back for more, which will help our business grow, which will be relected in the share price and therefore the shareholders will be happy.Shame there's not more of that around, methinks.
