I've been in the Paxworld fund for since 1993-94. While I am hardly an investing expert, I have been pleased with their consistently good returns and socially responsible format. They invest primarily in consumer/food goods, energy companies, communicatons, pharma-ceuticals, etc., as well as government securities that meet their social criteria. They do well because their companies are solid in terms of their fundamentals and are free (generally) of the lawsuits that can be a drag on the earnings and performance of many companies. They have a 4-star rating from Morningstar. Perhaps this is a fund that meets your specifications.
