I've bought several cars and my relationsip with a dealer has never lasted more than the few days or weeks it took to negotiate the best deal I could get.

In my experience, they'll take advantage of the buyer if they can.

So I try to go in with my eyes wide open. Which means coming in with as much pricing info as possible.

If a dealer is getting taken advantage of they won't take my offer. I am sure that they never lose out a fraction of a percent as often as they take advantage of somebody. This is a fact based observation.
