I've come to realize that I think it will cost $2 million to retire. Where did I get that number? I don't know. I'm still working on figuring out how much my "lifestyle" requires. Well, 2M gets you a safe 80K/year withdrawal (inflation adjusted) - after taxes, probably 60K or so. I figure that is almost enough for me, but I would prefer $100K before taxes. (so I also picked between $1 - $3M)
