I've glanced through the first and third books in your list. I believe (if memory serves) that the Knitting into the Mystery book is the story of a small group of Cathlic women who pray and recite the litany and/or novenas while they knit shawls for the ailing. They pray for the sick person while knitting a shawl or wrap for that person (or their family member). It's basically a practice in mindfulness or meditation in movement. Interesting, even if you're not Catholic, but if you want to use it at a church-based group (Episcopalian church, that is), it may not be quite the right choice.
