I've just retired myself, and my wife will cut the cord at the end of the year. We are counting on her companies group heath insurance plan. She is guaranteed membership in the plan for life, even though we may have to contribute as an active employee would.

Still, that leaves me with a problem. Should she die before me, I would loose the insurance. I'm not sure how to handle that. I hate to buy insurance just to cover myself, but I don't see any alternative.

Cheers,
GW
