I've seen a couple of sites that make an attempt at estimating the total tax burden, which is a step in the right direction, but you really need to include average cost of equivalent housing. Not just median house price, but price of the same size and quality house.



Why would you want the same size house when you retire?
It's just more to clean up. Why not downsize and pocket the difference?
