I've tried to read IRS guidelines and look for examples that fit this, but I'm not sure of the answer still.

Is there a chance that you're getting thrown off track by the venue and caterer? There's no difference between this event and one at the Hollywood Bowl catered by Wolfgang Puck in terms of attendee's charitable deduction and the information the charity must give them.

If it's those basic rules you don't understant, sorry, I can't help.
