I've used actual expenses for some vehicles and mileage for others. I had catering trucks that gulped gas and went through brakes and engines and everything else like you wouldn't believe. To insure them with the 21 year old drivers who smashed them periodically cost an arm and leg, too. For the trucks, it was worth keeping track of actual expenses. My business car is an old Toyota that is so cheap to run, I come out ahead charging for miles.
