According to a piece of research on thewebinvestor there is an important article about Total Containment (TCIX) and a pending lawsuit against Dayco, a subsidiary of Mark IV. Dayco provided defective pipes to TCIX in the early 90's. TCIX has been replacing pipe and has a lawsuit seeking restitution. The damages may be in excess of $25 million. Fortunately, the costs of the environmental issue is pretty much defined but the lawsuit may be expensive. TCIX is fundamentally performing well adn very profitable in a niche market. The stock trades at just under five times earnings. Since the lawsuit could be worth something like $5 a share and TCIX is trading at $6 it sure makes sense for Mark IV to just buy Total Containment. The details are in a research piece written on thewebinvestor site. The article is dated March 12, 1999 and called Total Containment: Priming the Pump.
